We love those who love us and what is ours becomes theirs.
Explanation:
I think you should go literal here to convey the exact meaning. I see this proverb as a relation of causality, not reciprocity. I mean, if you love me then I will love you & what's mine becomes yours. It's not that I love you & you love me so we are like birds of a feather. Also, "Love me, love my dog" means if you love me you have to love everything about me or everything that comes along with me ... you have to take the whole package so to speak.

That's how I see it. I wonder if there's someone else who feels the same about this.

Here, I found something close to my understanding of this "proverb":

Not at all dear Muhammad, I do realize this is the "usual" translation however I think what you've posted can also mean the same thing no? Like we'll connect with those who love us, love them back and we become one. I feel that the essence is served as in "people with similar interests find solace in each other...they become one and the same" At least that's what I got from the saying but what do I know I'm not Egyptian :D

neutral  sabbar: The meaning of this expression is that people of the same kind tend to connect with each other. Meaning if they are of bad character then you will find them together (or vice versa).

-> Thanks Sbbar you are correct, I didn't think of that angle, which makes my example irrelivant! I feel I should keep it nonetheless, to give others a chance to evaluate the different answers. I guess I wasn't familiar with the implicit "cultural" meaning

This is a simple one, but should be good. I am sure that there are many equivalent idioms.
