Die Sprunggelenkkonturen sind ***verstrichen" und die Achillesgruben lateral und medial uebermaessig with Oedem von mittelfester Konsistenz ausgefuellt. Die Kniegelenkskonturen sind durch kissenfoermige Fettgewebeeinlagerungen ***verstrichen***, es lassen sich hier ebenfalls tiefe Dellen einarbeiten.

An intraarticular knee effusion occurs due to swelling inside the knee joint. The swelling will result in loss of the normal contour of the extensor mechanism, usually with an increased fullness seen on both the medial and lateral aspects of the quadriceps tendon.

If present, note any signs of inflammation
Swelling right anterior to patella = prepatellar bursa
Diffuse swelling with loss of contours (e.g. hollows med & lat to patella) suggests fluid in joint space--see below for tests for this

  -> "Die Kontur ist verstrichen" means that there is a certain loss of contour depending on the swelling. As you can see in one fo my links the controur does not seem to disappear altogether.

Explanation:
I know someone to whom this could apply - my mother-in-law.

But joking aside, you could possibly reword it to say "the contours have disappeared". That's my suggestion.
