convergence angle (first mention); divergence angle (second mention) Explanation: The angle between two converging or diverging ducts which are both connected to a third duct. If the two ducts are feeding the third duct it is an angle of convergence. If the two ducts are fed by the third duct it is an angle of divergence (diffuser situation). When the feeding or fed duct is vertical the angle of convergence or divergence will be <on top> of the Y shape thus formed, thus <tophoek>. Note: There are various applications of <tophoek>/top angle/vertex angle (not all of them established or consistent) in geometry, in relation to intersecting lines, polygons and (isosceles) triangles, but these do not seem applicable here and, in at least one meaning of vertex, an angle of 120º, as mentioned in the text, would be impossible - though eminently possible in the case of converging/diverging ducts.
