English term or phrase: ditchstop
Watching the morning clouds roll down its lower slopes while the sun crept up painting the Martian desert red gold, it was all enough to make you forget you were a helluv poor redneck in a ***ditchstop*** town full of XP junkies who didn’t even hold the copyrights on their own bodies.

Notes to answerer

ditchstop town
un bled paumé

Explanation:
like this one:
" This mining town of 300 people clings like a burr to the back of the Black Rock Desert. For years, it was marked on state Highway 447 by a two-story sign reading, "Welcome to Nowhere.""
