English term or phrase: haberdashery
Bonjour,

"Plus, more and more players today are finding that their equipment’s precise measurements also can have a big effect on performance.

That’s because, in the past few years, advances in technology have enabled golfers to go beyond the insignificant and ornamental adjustments available in off-the-shelf inventory.

Now they can attain an entirely bespoke fit of the kind once exclusively reserved for their ***haberdashery*** needs."

neutral  Sheila Wilson: in the text, haberdashery is referring to clothes only, not equipment (though it is comparing the two)

oop. How does men's clothing sound weird. It's just a fancy word for clothing in your context

Note to reference poster
Asker: Thanks, Writeaway but I think that it sounds weird here.

Asker: I mean that I cannot see the link between the equipment (clubs, bags...) and the clothes here. As I said it, I understand it here like the former players because before this extract, I can read "Once exclusive to the pros, the latest custom equipment—fitted and made to order—is now accessible to every player".

agree  Tony M: Yes — custom fitting was one only for garments, but now extends to other accessories too.
