Tech/Engineering - Ships, Sailing, Maritime / type de verrou de hublot
English term or phrase: locking dogs

It is essential that a watertight seal is maintained on the main deck at all times whilst underway; this applies to all watertight doors, hatch openings and emergency escapes. All such openings should be clearly marked with a sign stating "Keep Closed Whilst Underway".

Rubber seals and ***locking dogs*** are to be kept in good working condition at all times, properly fitted and lubricated. Always operate all closing devices and dogs fitted; it is not sufficient to lock two ***dogs*** on a watertight door fitted with six.

Notes to answerer
