disagree  Tony M: 'Header point' refers to the form of the POINT of the screw; it tells us nothing at all about the form of its HEAD.

neutral  Tony M: Under-translation, really — 'header point' refers to the form of the screw point, and applies to many other kinds of screw quite apart from these ones that just happen to be used for a rack.

header point screw
vis à bout plat

Explanation:
Few convincing refs., and few FR sites really seem to make the same distinction as in here EN.

Certainly one can say that a 'header point screw' is indeed a 'vis à bout plat' — but it's only really one small subset of ALL 'vis à bout plat', which covers a much wider range of categories.

However, I feel this term is probably all that is needed in this particular instance, simply to describe a general type of screw suitable for use with rack-mount equipment.

Asker: Thanks, I really don't know which answer to choose. I appreciate your answer, but since googling "vis pour rack" gives images that match "header point screw" better, I'll choose that answer.

Asker: OK, I found it thanks to your reference, in French it's 'vis à bout chanfreiné' (chamfer = biseau ou chanfrein). Thanks a lot (sorry I already choose the other answer)

Asker: Wow, that's an amazing ref ! So it'd be something like a 'vis à bout plat biseauté' but no match for that in French. Thanks Tony !
