Rotterdam, 15 okt. De gemeente Rotterdam heeft de strijd aangebonden met cynisme op het werk. Ambtenaren kunnen sinds vorige week melding maken van bitter gestemde collega’s, die in hun ogen de werksfeer ondermijnen. Daartoe heeft Rotterdam een digitaal loket geopend, het meldpunt cynisme.

De aankondiging op het eigen intranet heeft tot beroering geleid onder de ruim 14.000 ambtenaren in Rotterdam. Interne kliklijn

Van een interne kliklijn is geen sprake, bezweert de woordvoerder van verantwoordelijk wethouder Lucas Bolsius (haven, financiën en organisatie, CDA). „De term ‘meldpunt’ is wat ongelukkig gekozen, steunpunt was een betere benaming geweest. Want het gaat niet om personen, het gaat om het gedrag.”

'bestaat er een risico dat het uitmondt in een kliklijn'

Wordt hier niet bedoeld dat het geven van informatie het karakter krijgt zoals dat bij de bestaande kliklijnen?

Met als negatief gevolg dat mensen nu in het verdachtenbankje worden geplaatst?

Het was niet de bedoeling mensen/kwesties aan te geven en aan mogelijke vervolging bloot te stellen maar daar begint het nu wel op te lijken.

In die zin is een kliklijn per definitie negatief.

"Yes, the Dutch specialise in klikken ;)", hoe kom je daar nu bij? Kliklijn en Tiplijn zijn technisch hetzelfde maar qua gevoelswaarde is klikken geheel iets anders!!! Hier wordt geopperd dat mensen iets moeten kunnen doorgeven maar het moet geen kliklijn worden. bestaat er een risico dat het uitmondt in een kliklijn (en dat willen we niet)

I've never heard 'snitch line' used in UK English. It sounds a bit too slangy to me, unless the context is very informal.

In the UK, it isn't considered polite to be that direct.

Notice that I am not saying that "snitch line" is wrong, and you won't catch me putting a big red <font size="2" color="red">Disagree</font> on your answer. It might be usable, in the right context. But seeing as how we have virtually none, I'd opt for the slightly safer and more polite "tip-off line".

Now, it depends on what your target is: in the States they use "hotline", in UK, Canada and elsewhere, including Europe, they skip on the HOT.

whichever number you can call, and get someone on the line in the name of public service is called a hotline. Even if its about yourself, like people denouncing themselves in case they think they need some help. You are then protecting the society from yourself.

is that a positive action? I mean, one to be encouraged linguistically? To say, ah, what you are doing is not so bad, it's just a tip-off tip, a tip, a suggestion for an improvement.
I'd call it by its right name SNITCHING.
The police cannot call by its right name for obvious reasons, In an effort to make it a bit more noble (and of course, as regards real criminals - completely justified), they came up with an 'off -'ending for a word meaning 'advice". Good for them. And too long now ago to make any problems about it. Whereas, this new phenomena "Snitch Hotline" targeted at neighbors and whoever, deserves to be called by the most appropriate word, I think. Tip-off is too positive.

Simply Hotline. The specifics should come before "Hotline".
