Je traduis un ensemble de contrats (bail) dans le domaine aéronautique.

Le terme me posant problème apparaît dans un article intitulé "tax contest and mitigation" :

"(b) Mitigation: if circumstances are such that Lessor intends to claim indemnification from Lessee under Claim 5.7 (Tax indemnity) Lessor shall, after consultation with Lessee and to the extent that it can do so lawfully and without prejudice to its own position and/or to Lessee's indemnity and other obligation, consider and will agree what steps it might reasonably take with a view to mitigating the effect of such circumstances on Lessee."

Je connais le sens du mot mais je peine à le mettre en contexte ici. le mot a-t-il un sens spécifique ici ou peut-on l'envisager dans un sens plus général ?
