Portuguese term or phrase: discos tocados de trás para frente em baixa rotação
Hi everyone! I'm translating a sci-fi novel and am not sure how to translate this phrase. Would it refer to a CD or record? I'm just not sure how you would say this in US English. Thanks for your help!

- Para! Eu não sei de nada!!! – ela gritou, entre um soluço e outro.
- Então vai vir comigo para o outro lado e saber do que eu sou capaz quando quero uma coisa – era uma voz pastosa, grossa, como aquelas de ***discos tocados de trás para frente em baixa rotação***.
