Tot de consumer discretionary behoren restaurants, duurzame consumentengoederen, hobbypakketten, auto's enz. Een ABN-AMRO-fonds dat de consumer discretionary index shaduwt noemt zichzelf het luxegoederen en dienstenfonds. Wellicht is dit de meest nauwkeurige vertaling? (maar, afgaande op wat er op het internet staat, meestal wordt het in het Nederlands gewoon als consumer discretionary aangeduid)
