Explanation:

Как в анекдоте про советского командировочного, что пришел в дом терпимости в Лондоне. Дали самую опытную девушку чтоб не ударить в грязь лицом перед таким редким клиентом. Весь персонал столпился под дверью - подслушивать, что же он там от нее потребует. И вдруг слышат ее отчаянный крик: anything but that, sir! We can't accept roubles!
Обычно релевантный кусок переводился как “что угодно, только не это!“
