Oltre all’effetto di diffrazione, vi è anche il cosiddetto effetto focalizzante che incide sulla pressione sonora. Cioè, per convogliare meglio le onde sonore all’interno del condotto uditivo esterno, aumentando così la pressione sonora, è necessario che la superficie riflettente, nel caso specifico il padiglione auricolare, sia più ampia rispetto alla lunghezza d’onda del segnale sonoro. Per tale motivo il padiglione raccoglie più efficacemente suoni ad alta frequenzache hanno sfavorevole rapporto a causa della loro lunghezza d’onda.

Asker: avevo cercato anch'io con "riflettente", ma non mi sembra che sia usato nel senso dell'aspetto, nella descrizione di un esame fisico. Oppure tu hai trovato record più specifici?
