English term or phrase: Daw, Ma
I found a name in a Burmese certificate that is THEIN HAN. In few certificates this name is written as MA THEIN HAN and DAW THEIN HAN. I need to know what is meant by MA and DAW? Are DAW and MA used as titles before the name of a married woman or unmarried woman respectively? Is there anybody to help?

honorific for women
Explanation:
Daw = honorific for older Burmese women or younger Burmese women with status (like an elementary teacher in her early twenties)
Ma = honorific for younger Burmese women. However, older people who are friends can still call each other with "Ma" as honorific.
