corpuslinguistiek: Corpustaalkunde is de studie van taal met behulp van een verzameling van geannoteerd tekst. Zulke verzamelingen van teksten worden corpora genoemd.
contactlinguistiek:
Kontaktlinguistik ist die sprachwissenschaftliche Betrachtung von Sprachen und deren Sprechern, die miteinander in irgendeiner Form von sozialem Kontakt stehen. Die Folge solchen Kontakts können Mehrsprachigkeit, die Bildung arealer Verteilungen von Sprachmerkmalen, das Aussterben von Sprachen sowie die Bildung von Mischsprachen und Pidgin- bzw. Kreolsprachen sein.
