the idea is nullified/invalidated

Explanation:
I agree with the others but this is not the typical use of stonewall. Here I believe it is:
nullify. The American Heritage® Dictionary of the English Language: Fourth Edition. 2000.
...Inflected forms: nul·li·fied, nul·li·fy·ing, nul·li·fies1. To make null; invalidate. 2. To counteract the force or effectiveness of. Latin nllificre, to despise :...

the fact that they are having weight and dress size specified and underlined is contrary to saying "size doesn't matter".

Actions speak louder than words.

Hi ema,

The New Oxford Dictionary of English gives a very precise description.

Basically the idea does not necessarily have to be explicitly rejected or blocked (as one might assume from the idea of stonewalling a window or doorway) - it might simply be ignored.

Regarding your other query (professional women vs women in ad), if I am not mistaken in earlier questions you suggested that this ad portrays women who are not glamour mag model. In this sense, "professional" does not refer to professional models but to professionals in other walks of life, who knows, lawyers, architects or whomever might be portrayed in the ads. It is they who are posing in the ads, as opposed to models and the whole idea of giving weight and measures would be to underline the fact that you don't need to be a model. You may argue that this would defeat the very purpose, but I should think that the idea was there precisely to underline that they are not models. (Again see professional in the New Oxford dict.: "noun. a person engaged or qualified in a profession: profesasionals such as lawyers or surveyors" i.e. those for which a specific and normally higher degree of education is required)

It would seem to me that the author has a valid point, but that the campaign is set to go ahead and her objections are not going to stop it.

the idea is stonewalled = no-one wants to know

Explanation:
Rephrase:
Those professional women who are backing a campaign which is designed to say that size doesn't matter and who then (= as part of the campaign?) pose in their knickers and have their weight, dress size catalogued in the Daily Mail are behaving in a contradictory way, the writer believes, however, when he/she brings the irony of the situation to others' attention, no-one wants to know (eg he gets stares, blank looks and people turn the conversation another way)

stonewall = to stop a discussion from developing by refusing to answer questions of by talking in such a way that you prevent other people from giving their opinions eg The interviewer accused the minister of stonewalling on the issue of tax increases.
