This is a military truck, I'm translating a manual, now dealing with a chapter on engine electronics. I came upon the following:
The Tachometer signal is sent to the Electonic Gauge Console through the public CAN network. The TACH signal is also supplied on one circuit to the body builder blunt cut-off circuits.

The Internet is uncharacteristically silent to a point that I almost suspect some kind of a typo.
