English term or phrase: load with people being on it
its translation from Russian

Does this phrase sound more or less ok or maybe someone can suggest an improvement?

Thank you in advance!

....

- to move people or *the load with people being on it*;

English translation:(people or) a load with people on it
Explanation:
I suggest you just leave out the "being" - that makes it totally understandable, and you don't say the crane has a platform anyway.
In any case, what sort of loads does the crane move - containers? Steel coils? Motor vehicles? Packing cases?

Operating while persons are on platform.

Explanation:
3.1.33. During work of the crane the following is not allowed:

Operating while persons are on platform.

Persons to stand within reach of the platform

etc..........

It is common in instructions manuals to not include "The" before platform

Here is a list of safety instruction booklets for you to locate the correct words for your text.

I meant to also inquire about this ... . "During work of the crane the following is not allowed:"

Did you mean, "While work is being undertaken on the crane, the following is not permitted:" (maintenance work)

Or "While crane is operating, the following is not permitted:"

ok It was a bit confusing..

Cranes have several platforms on them, one they use for lifting and some on the turret.

"Operating while persons are on (the) lifting platform".. would be the correct phrase.

Maybe you need 2 lines to cover all possibilities.

Operating while persons are on (the) lifting platform

Operating while persons are on the lift hook

( a lifting platform / cage is often used for carrying up loads of smaller items like bricks and tools)

Did you look at some of the manuals? There are plenty of phrases for you to choose from which your client would be happy with.

Notes to answerer
Asker: I meant "While crane is operating, the following is not permitted:"

Asker: Gary - but I did mean any lifting platform :( What I was trying to say was the following: 1. There is hook 2. There is the load on the hook 3. It is not allowed to use crane when there are people on the load

Asker: Thank you, Gary!

Explanation:
sth. like:
never allow anyone to ride on the load
or
never allow anyone to be lifted with the load
or
do not use for lifting people...

a few more ways of saying it in plain English
