English translation:student in "quad" (central plaza/courtyard area)
Explanation:
Hi Nadia! The caption refers to the location of the student on the campus. Many U.S. college campuses have an area called a "quad" which is usually a rectangular or square courtyard/plaza/open space located in the middle of several buildings. At my college (Tufts Univ in Boston), I believe the quad was surrounded by dormitories. The quad can be a gathering place for students and even for informal university events.

I was at Cambridge in the 60's and always understood that 'quads' belonged in 'the other place' (Oxford) whereas Cambridge colleges had 'courts'
