Education / Pedagogy / Academic Olympics Test Question
English term or phrase: access/admission/admittance
I have a question from the All-Russia English Language Academic Olympics Test 2010
"Only ticket holders can enter.
A...for ticket owners only."

Complete the word so that the second sentence has the same meaning as the first one.

(side note: "a..." is the first letter of the word to guess. I have not seen myself the task and sentences in a written form. Here is what I render from what the kids told me.
I have my kids' and my answers: access/admission/admittance
Of course I do not know the correct answer- I mean I do not know the key to the test).
Thank you.

Explanation:
Ticket holders gain the right of admission by buying a ticket. On the day, they gain admittance by showing that ticket.

neutral  Tony M: 'admittance' is really 'the act of being allowed admission', I don't think it is nearly so commonly used in this sort of expression in everyday EN.
