disagree  Armorel Young: A specious distinction. "Is there any more soup?" (as a way of asking for a second helping) means exactly the same as "Is there any soup left?"

-> I stand by my answer...this nuance has been in many ESL group discussions....asking for a second helping, additional, is not the same as asking if there is any remaining

Explanation:
It is saying that a French negative expresssion ne plus+verb means the three English negative expressions ( and manage to add some extras to the ones given).

Here is the answer to the abstratract question.

Ne ... plus (ne plus avoir/n'avoir plus) means 'no more', 'no longer' or none left.
The question is giving the answer Ne ... plus means 'no more', 'no longer' or none left!
But what does it all mean?
The English expressions above translated into French: Je n'ai plus d'argent – Je n’ai plus du lait - mean in English
I have no money/milk left. no more I have money/milk. I have money/milk no more. No longer I have money/milk. I have no money/milk left. No longer I have money/milk left. I run out of money/milk and so on

This is not to say that there are other ways of translating into French thee added sentences etc.
