English term or phrase: overseers
A short circuit on any DC output will cause the power to latch. The power supply will withstand a continuous short circuit to the output without damage or overseers to the unit. The +5V can be shorted indefinitely and will recover automatically when the short is removed

What's the meaning of "overseers" in this context?

Thank you in advance

aka damned if I know (and it's my field...)
Is this NE or a translation? My **guess** is that it means 'without damage, even without supervisory circuitry' (for the power supply).

But it could mean something completely different...

Incidentally, there seems to be a logical contradiction in this text. The first sentence says that a short on any DC output will cause the supply to latch (enter and maintain a particular state, in this case most likely a shutdown state), while the last sentence says that the +5V supply recovers automatically from a short circuit.

agree  Erich Ekoputra: Looks like so as the power supply can auto-latch when shortcircuited and auto-recover when the shortcircuit is removed.

neutral  Erich Ekoputra: Your last sentence only (not your answer): dont see contradiction--the supply auto-latch when there's SS, the supply auto-recover when SS is removed by something not mentioned in the text.

a mistake in the OT

Explanation:
I'd say there is a mistake in the original text - it doesn't make sense as it stands.

The "overseers" may mean the "monitoring equipment", but only if there IS a mistake there somewhere - probably a transposition of one or two words, which you'll need to check with the customer, I'd say...

Seasonal Energy Efficiency Rating

Explanation:
Just a guess. but if this circuit has anything to do with air conditioning or heating units, then it might be strangely referring to the SEER rating not being affected by a fault. ???
