Explanation: Both are used, I don't think there is any need to add a hypen. It is a short hand way of saying repairable by vendor and is not that frequently used.

I check with a friend who is a technical editor in the U.S. He said that he would use the hyphen for clarity as vendor-repairable is being used as a modifier. So there clearly are those who do not use the hypen, but my friend the professional agrees with John and the others who prefer the hyphen to add clarity.

My spell checker says that both is possible in US English, but UK English is "repairable" only.
Anyone agreeing here?
I think North American usage is the same as British here. Most style guides call for compound adjectives to be hyphenated in most cases. See for example the wikipedia entry: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Compound_adjective
Personally, I would add a hyphen for the sake of clarity, but that's from a British English perspective. US usage might be different.
