English term or phrase: structural, high-density polyethylene
Context: "XX slides are made of structural, high-density polyethylene"

The slides are those for kids. I don't know where "structural" actually refers. Is the HDPE (high-density polyethylene) plastics itself somehow structural or is it the slide that is structural.

high-density polyethylene with a special composition
Explanation:
This is high-density polyethylene which has special internal structure owing to special additives.

The new process uses a Structural High-Density Polyethylene Material, which incorporates an enclosed cellular matrix buoyancy component. The material has been used for Formula 1 Race crash barriers in the past, due to its superior impact properties. It is lightweight, and very strong.

This method is very popular for structural HDPE products. Fiberglass and other non organic materials are added to the HDPE to achieve a structural rating.

Of course, "structural" refers to HDPE, not slides.

Structural/synthetic/non-biodegradable HDPE

Explanation:
I'd like to offer an explanation for structural HDPE.

It is actually referring to structural HDPE (high-density polyethylene). HDPE is a polymer and there are two main types of polymers: synthetic and natural polymers. Synthetic polymer is also known as structural polymer. The text uses 'structural' to distinguish from natural HDPE.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/High-density_polyethylene
http://education.andrew.cmu.edu/gelfand/scimodules/3._Natura...

Info about natural/biodegradable HDPE:
http://www.emcoplastics.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=product.dis...
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bioplastic
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Renewable_Polyethylene

Basically, a natural HDPE is biodegradable, while a structural/synthetic HDPE is non-biodegradable.

To distinguish between both types of HDPE, they added the word 'structural' in front.
