English term or phrase: appoval
Furthermore, the rules shall not allow such a use that states, implies or suggests that the xxx (accreditation body) approves a calibrated instrument, test or inspection item or product, management system or a person or that suggests product, management system or person approval by the xxx (accreditation body).

I think the second half means the similarthing in the first half.

English translation:That the xxx has stated that they approve of this thing
Explanation:
I think it's stronger than acceptance (sorry) - it implies that it has been through an official approval process and is accredited, if you like, for use. I.e. they can't use anything that hasn't been actively approved by the accreditation agency. Both halves of the sentence have the same idea, but are talking about approval of different things. But it's positive approval rather than neutral acceptance.

Also, approval is related to accreditation, in that accreditation implies the stated approval of the procedures involved - so anything involving the accreditation has to be approved by the accreditation body.

Explanation:
Accreditation symbols, text reference to accreditation shall not be used to accredit/ attest to conformity/ approve (as meeting a prescribed standard) a calibrated instrument, test or inspection item or product, management system or a person

The way I see it (judging by the reference bellow) they are just used by the accreditation body to identify itself. E.g. an accredited lab tests a product and places accreditation symbol on analyses results (which may in fact be such to indicate the product is NOT in conformity with given requirements). The symbol only serves to prove the tests were done by the accredited lab - not that the sample in question is in any way approved by the lab.

Accreditation body logo: it is the logo used by an accreditation body (AB) to identify itself.
Accreditation symbol: it is the symbol issued by an accreditation body to be used by accredited Conformity Assessment Bodies (CABs) to indicate their accredited status.
Reference to accreditation: it is a text or a disclaimer used by an accredited CAB to refer to its accreditation.

agree  B D Finch: Yes, I think it is Vesna who is on the wrong track. This seems to be about not permitting claims for approval (recommendation) over and above the fact of accreditation.
