excessive speed due to uneven/too heavy load, or load sensor problems. I am sure your document explains the specification and conditions of the load, like the load mix has to be balanced, the mix is layered, etc. If these conditions are not observed, the load may override the sensor, and results in excess speed.

The 'excessive speed or movement' applies to which part of the machine? The paddles or movement of the machine itself assuming it is mounted on rubber bushes of some sort.

It depends on how the speed is controlled. A machine will normally slow down if there is excessive flow for example, because there is an increased load. If time I'll check out your banbury mixer.

A bit more context please. Is there the possibility of 'over-riding' the controls for example? Or has it been speeded up because of the 'over-riding' i.e. excessive demands?
