disco music is disco music and is used like that, but as for the place to go dancing "club" is used more often ("to go clubbing")

now I\'m remembering...my children attend to \"disco\" at school once every other month, which is a dance organised in the main hall of their school (with DJ, lights and \"bar\" selling sweets and pop!! can you believe it??!!)
