English term or phrase: Chairman of the Diwan
Here in Iraq we address him "Chairman of Diwan" ("Raees al-Diwan", in Arabic. Some translators are using "Secretary General" in English, while others use "Chief of Staff" or "Office Manager". He is the top administrative official, the one in control of the daily activities of employees and financial and administrative affairs related to the staff working at the Iraqi Council of Representatives. He is not "The Speaker". I checked with the duties of the White House Chief of Staff and found the description similar to the post under consideration. Also, there is a "Chief of Staff" for the Kurdistan Regional Governmenr in charge of the staff working under President Barzani.
