  -> First, I thought asker needed the meaning of "be made to". Then, if you read below I offered my suggestion for "render accounts", supporting Alexandra's. So, honestly, I don't understand your disagreement.

it can also mean to submit an account for payment but I don't believe this is the case in the context you've given. it seems more like just not having to inform or explain their actions to others
