English term or phrase: hitch wagon to someone's star/hitch future to someone's wagon
"It takes 18 minutesfor me to walk you through everything we've got, what we're trying to do, why we're trying to do it, and why we think you would be the very best person in the marketplace to be affiliated with us, and why we have no problem doing it in a way where we take all of the risk, you don't have a dime risk, and even if it works but you don't like it, you can get out of the deal.
I think it's going to require you to have a vision of yourself, not condescending or hyper-alluding, but extremely, extremely valuable. You got to basically conduct yourself as if-and truthfully it'd be yourself if you want privacy
- you've basically got the holy grail and you want to shareit with them, but you don't just want to share it with anybody, and yet their money is not the issue.
You basically want to hitch your wagon to their star long term."

"And in multi-industry competitive situations where there's three or four people your own association is buying for exhibit dollars and for membership dollars, together we can dominate, or we can't.
And I'm not going to grovel because I don't want to. I have a vision that's very clear.
And to my knowledge, there's no one, who's going to do it and there's only two or three people who could do it if they wanted to and they're so traditionally minded that for them to do it, they'll be seven years behind me because I'll be so far ahead.
So, I guess what I'm saying is, would you like to hitch your future to my wagon or not?"

Hitch your wagon to my star

Explanation:
I've never heard people talking of hitching their future to someone's wagon, but hitching your wagon to someone's star is a common(ish) phrase.

bet your future on someone else's plan

Explanation:
If you do this, your future is contingent upon the plans, decisions, talent, and capabilities of the other party. It's their wagon.
