The word 'security' in these provisions means an instrument(e.g. a bond)? A security intrest? Or collateral? Or is it used in more than one meaning?

guarantee or right to receive the asset/collateral in case of default
Explanation:
Security essentially means the same things in all of the uses in the text. The one million units as described or some other asset of equivalent value is the guarantee (the holder is secured and has the right to claim/receive that equivalent monetary value) immediately is the writer defaults on the promissory note as described in the text.

I would add that that although collateral and security in one sense have the sense meaning, the use of the word security brings in a second sense for the native English speaker -- that is that you are secure/safe in making this loan because you have collateral as your security/safeguard/guarantee in case of default.

This may also be helpful, and is a more technical financial definition:

security interest

DefinitionThe right of the creditor to take all or part of a property offered as security.
