the parragraph was:
"In this step some of the divergent spellings are classified as mere colloquialisms and not actual Yorkshire dialect. The next step consists of a careful classification of the irregular graphemes. Received Pronunciation is the standard for the classification of the words, the vowel sounds acting as the principal focus. "
It means that the RP is the basis for the clasiffication of the different pronunciations in Yks dialect, and that the main point will be on the vowels and not the consonants, for example.
Thus I am not sure the answers you all give me are the most accurate ones...
