It probably means "Such a transparent electrode is usually made from wires which vibrate during the scanning process, and this interferes significantly with operation of the device." Or "this causes significant problems with operation of the device". "Functioning" could be used also, although "operation" is fine. They mean that the device doesn't work as well because of the vibration, so anything that gets that idea across will be suitable.
If the original was Russian or a related language (Ukrainian?), then the word that literally means "worsens" often has to be translated rather creatively (getting entirely away from the original sentence structure) because we don't talk like that so often in English. Anyway - "worsens" isn't typically used in this context. We talk about worsening of a medical condition or a political situation, though. |
