English to English translations [PRO] Medical - Medical: Instruments | | English term or phrase: Y__ or bypass___ | Context: total parenteral nutrition, medium-chain carbohydrates (MCH)
Fill in the blanks....Two technical terms in connection with infusions.
"When infusing fat emulsions concurrently with other solutions via a Y___ or _______, you must pay special attention to compatibility of active substances."
I'm translating from Slovenian to English, a very poor text, and cannot figure out the right term... Literal translation would be: "When infusing fat emulsions concurrently with other solutions via a Y or bypass connector, you must pay special attention to compatibility of active substance contents."
Another sentence where the same terms appear:
" If infusion of a fat emulsion is administered concurrently with amino acids or carbohydrates, the Y___or a bypass___ should be positioned as closely to the patient as possible."
Any help appreciated! |

1 hr confidence: peer agreement (net): +3 | y__ or bypass___ Y- or bypass connector (see below)
Explanation: Have you seen this website? On page 3 it has that exact phrase, just worded a bit differently:
"When lipid emulsions are to be simultaneously infused with amino acid and carbohydrate solutions the Y- or the bypass connector should be placed as close to the patient as possible."

Asker: OMG, thanks, Michelle!
I wish I had seen the page before I translated everything 'by hand'. Uff! It is very very similar. Well, its 4:30 am here and I'm finally done with it, and don't want to hear anything more about it! Thanks again and greetings to Canada.
