English to English translations [PRO] Medical - Medical: Instruments | | English term or phrase: protocol required leads | "Patients indicated for a DR-ICD/VR-ICD/CRT-D already implanted with a [brand name] device and the protocol required leads, who have not yet been discharged after implant."
I feel that this sentence is written very badly. Can someone explain in plain English what is mean exactly? Thanks !
I am particularly confused about 'protocol required leads'. And does the 'who' refer to patients?
Context is a clinical study involving an implantable defibrillator device. |

| | English translation:leads required by the study protocol | Explanation: "Leads" being the device's electrodes, most probably.
"Who" is defining the subgroup of patients: those with the device AND the "protocol required leads" who have undergone the procedure, but not yet been discharged. |
