closed dressing
Explanation:
Split thickness skin graft donor sites have been treated with open or closed dressings. The open technique of donor dressing has been long abandoned in favour of the closed method since occlusive dressings have shown better results with shorter healing time, superior quality of the regenerated epithelium and more patient comfort.

from wiki

Skin grafts can be
Split-thickness - epidermis and variable amounts of dermis. Commonly taken from the thigh or buttocks. The donor site heals by re-epitheliasation from the dermis and surrounding skin and requires dressings.
Full - thickness- epidermis and all the dermis. The donor site is either sutured directly or split-thickness skin grafted.
Composite graft - small grafts containing skin and underlying cartilage or other tissue. Donor sites include, for example, ear skin and cartilage to reconstruct nasal alar rim defects.

Split thickness skin grafts are used when large wounds need to be covered. In most situations large potential donor sites exist for the harvesting of a split thickness skin grafts.Split thickness skin grafts are typically harvested from the thighs, buttocks and occasionally the upper limb, abdomen and back. Full thickness skin grafts are of limited availability. The ability to harvest full thickness skin grafts is restricted by the necessity of stitching up thedonor site from which they were taken. Typical full thickness skin graft donor sites include in front of and behind the ear, the upper eyelid, the neck and the abdomen.
Split thickness skin grafts heal readily to most wounds to which they are applied. In contrast full thickness skin grafts are more "particular" about the wound bed to which they are applied. The process of a skin graft sticking to the wound bed to which it is applied is known as "take". Wounds covered with split thickness skin grafts tend to shrink as the wound heals. This often produces an irregular appearance to the skin graft. In contrast, full thickness skin graftsremain flat over time and there is little wound shrinkage.
