English translation:conditions
Explanation:
This does not refer to the current status of a disease but to certain (pathological) conditions that will compromise immunity.

For example, patients with AIDS will have compromised immunity, giving them an increased risk of herpes.

Oxford dict defintion of "state":
· n.
1 the condition of someone or something. Ø a physical condition as regards internal or molecular form or structure.

Obesity as a disease state

-> Although I totally agree, it is clear from my answer (which should have been as precise as Emma's :) and I would also dare say from the asker's question that I didn't mean a status of a current disease or so. I really appreciate your input though ;)!
