Are these separate jobs? The post in the question implies payment every four weeks for work carried out in the intervening four weeks, so four weeks' payment at one time. The discussion post seems to imply that the post is paid weekly, but four weeks in arrears.

If you can, I advise you to check with your client as this could be either (a) every Friday, 4 weeks after earning it, or (b) every 4 weeks, for the 4 weeks just worked

Well. The company in question is based in England. The HR manager 's name and surname who signed the employment contract seems to be English, too. I'd say the text was written by a native speaker of English.

I agree it does sound confusing. But at face value, I would understand that they are saying the payment Friday will be every fourth week. I suspect the text maybe has been written by a non-native.

This WAS also my understanding. However a few days ago I had another document which said "You will earn xxx per hour payable four weekly in arrears. It is a requirement of your employment that you hold a current bank account as your wages will be paid every Friday" And I got completely confused
