English term or phrase: put on the clock
You want to say, You know that I would talk to anybody in your organization that you had a question with and I wouldn't put it on the clock as long as it was a reasonable request. I'd like to ask the same of you. I don't think it's appropriate for me to solicit your referral. I think it has much more integrity or quality if you would call them for me, tell them about the work that we did, give them my number or ask if they would like me to call them after that.
