Cognitive fixation (tunnelvision – can’t see the wood for the trees) is a further effect.

Can't see the obvious even though it is looking you in the face


Explanation:
You can't see the wood for the trees = you cannot see the obvious even though it is looking you in the face. A wood is an area of land covered in trees. You cannot see the whole wood because you're too busy looking at each tree.
