English term or phrase: Until
"We could not find him until Today" -
Does this mean that we could not find him before today and we found him today?
Or
Does this mean that we could not find him before today and he is still missing?

How about if we use "till" instead of "until"? - "We could not find him till Today"

TIA.

We still cannot find him.

By stating this it indicates that he has not been found, and that an ongoing effort to find him has been underway, possibly extending to previous days.
