Art/Literary - Poetry & Literature / Ode on solitude by Alexander Pope
English term or phrase: ease
Blest! who can unconcern'dly find
Hours, days, and years slide soft away,
In health of body, peace of mind,
Quiet by day,

Sound sleep by night; study and ease
Together mix'd; sweet recreation,
And innocence, which most does please,
With meditation.

What do you think "ease" means in this context?

English translation:leisure
Explanation:
I think as it is used here, it is contrasting study with the restful time not spent studying, i.e. leisure in general.
