English term or phrase: I am the bull of the lick
in a pseudo-biography I'm translating into Hebrew, the yonung Abe Lincoln fights a couple of guys, throws the strongest of them down and shouts "I am the bull of the lick". I think I got the general meaning of it but can anyone help? What's that 'lick' he's talking about? - When I know that I can think of someway to make it work in Hebrew.

Thanks,
Hagy.

I am the king of the salt lick
Explanation:
I am guessing the lick is the salt lick that herds of cattle have access to. Presumably, the bull is given first option at the lick and the herd of cows accesses it afterwards. So he's king of the jungle, bull of the salt-lick!

i am the bull of the lick
King of the Hill

Explanation:
Firstly, Liz is right about the salt lick, nobody would say this nowadays, there are more common ways:
King of the hill : Phrases
Meaning:
To be the best at something.

Example:

Tell me who is the king of the hill around here, so I will know who to brown nose to.

Origin:

This goes back to battlefields of long ago. All sides fought to conquer the high ground, the hills. This was often the best vantage point and the point of most advantage. Whichever unit won or took the hill was likely winning.

Other possibilities:
King of the castle, king of the jungle (gaining more negative racist connotations though).

דרך הגב, איך לתרגם את זה בעברית?..נסיתי למצוא צירוף בעברית אבל נכשלתי
