English term or phrase:standing naked in court
I have laid myself bare - but kept my heart and soul to myself - I stand naked in your court.
If we look at the entire text, doesn't it read like some emotional song?
"I have laid myself bare - but kept my heart and soul to myself - I stand naked in your court."
Notice the slightly sexual connotation... "laid myself bare"... "I stand naked *in* *your* court" and not *before* *the/this* court"... I have a sneaking suspicion this character is not referring to an actual court but to a person who is about to break up with her... Or, am I reading too much into this? ;) I wish there was some context!

Asker: Dear ilkido, I am afraid i have no real context. It was just something I thought about this morning when I woke up. I am afraid I have probably broken all the rules of ProZ as this is not really officially to do with a business translation. It is just somehting I pondered about and now that I have read the lyrics of the song by Bob Dylan, It's alright Ma, I think I came a little bit closer in understanding.
