English term or phrase: chain ring like attractors
This appears in a J->E translation I'm editing. It's related to recurrent neural networks. Any idea what it was supposed to mean? I don't have the japanese original.

English translation:periodic / cyclical / recurring in cycles
Explanation:
Chain rings move in circles, so it may refer to attractors that perform the same movements. These attractors may move in a periodic cycle in a dynamical system such that previous states are returned to repeatedly.

On re-reading paper a few times, it turns out that it is a new type of neural network that author had come up with doing exactly what this answer described. I ran out of time and left it as "chain ring-like attractors" but in contemplation "chain ring attractors" is probably better English...

Explanation:
I would imagine using the term "like" that it RESEMBLES or APPEARS in that manner, so it appears to be a chain ring
