English term or phrase: blow job
Hello, late night type of question here
inspired by the discusion we have here:
http://www.proz.com/kudoz/2485772
where my Polish colleagues maintain that the expression
is STRICTLY reserved for men, hence all the negative comments.

Am I mistaken thinking it's good for both? (excuse the pun ;))

In that case, yes -- it is incorrect; this term only applies to males. The general term for performing oral sex on a female is 'to eat out.'

Not correct

Explanation:
I saw the Polish question you're referring to and read it with interest. In English, the use of the term "blow job" refers ONLY to men. Male recipients only. Men receive "blow jobs" from either men or women and the term is NEVER used for females. I hope that this helps to clearly answer your question.

-> Thank you. Another way to check the veracity is to use an example. IF I said "I gave *her* a blow job" ANY native English speaker (regardless of where they are from) would either look at me strangely OR laugh, outright, in my face. ONLY men receive "b.j."
