English term or phrase: Pow

In a ski context, I am assuming pow is a short for "powder" and refers to a type of snow which is very much like powder (called "poudreuse" in French). Am I correct?

You're correct, Michel. Here's a glossary of ski/snow terminology. If you scroll down, it says that 'pow' is a synonym for 'poudreuse'.

Explanation:
Certainly, Michel, powder refers to the snow, but pow as a short form... I've never heard it.
Dans le meme ordre d'idee, pow could mean power
And in comic lingo, Pow! can mean Bam! Blam! Kapow!
