English term or phrase: kicky/kicking points
This comes from a TV series. A drunk woman watching a football game on TV says: "My team is up three kicky (or kicking) points".

Could you please explain to me what those "kicky points" (or "kicking points") are?

English translation:Poins scored by kicking the ball rather than in some other way
Explanation:
Kicking, not kicky. This concerns American football, about which I know very little, but in Rugby football, points can be scored by kicking a "try" over the goalposts after carrying it over the touchline. Points are awarded for the try and more points for "converting" it to a goal.
No doubt someone in the USA who knows more about the subject will give you a more comprehensive answer.

neutral  Cilian O'Tuama: probably answers Asker's Q - of course in rugby that should be "kicking the BALL BETWEEN the goalposts (and over the crossbar)... // No need to delete, your explanation is good enough IMO

-> You're right. I don't know a lot about any form of football. If someone enters a more coherent answer, I'll delete this one.

agree  kamilw: You're generally right. She must've meant one field goal which is worth 3 points in American football. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/American_football#Scoring
