disagree  Tony M: That would be over-interpretation: we have no way of knowing what these 'tones' are, it is certainly not sure that they are pastel. And also, do let's be very wary of that boringly common error 'compliment' by mistake for 'complement'

  -> Thank you, yes, "complement"...They could be all white, but not dark: any sort of lighting gives contrast when it's on against dark surroundings, or objects - that would contradict given discription of "softness".
