LECHY
Le Lechy, ou Leshy ou Lesovik ou Lesiye (Леший) est l'esprit de la forêt dans la mythologie slave. Sa peau est d'un bleu léger, surtout au niveau des joues car son sang est bleu. Son poil est vert, il a une grande barbe et des sourcils touffus qui chenillent autour d'yeux globuleux et verdâtres. Il est de taille variable : géant comme les arbres ou si petit qu'il peut se cacher sous les feuilles. Il aime égaré les promeneurs en forêt. Pour rompre le charme et ne plus errer en tous sens, il faut mettre ses vêtements à l'envers, passer le soulier gauche au pied droit. C'est, par ailleurs, la façon dont le Lechy s'habillent. En octobre, le Lechy hiberne. Sentant en lui la perte progressive de ses forces, il devient hargneux et harpente la forêt en criant sauvagement, en imitant les sanglots et les rires fous humains. Le rencontrer à ce moment est fort dangeureux ! Mais le Lechy s'endormira bientôt, avec sa femme la Lechatchikha et ses enfants les Lechonki, puis, quand le printemps sortira de sa tanière, toute la famille se réveillera.
